The Italian club Alessandria has broken the world record for the longest international break since the start of the Serie A season in 2014, with their striker Leonardo scoring a goal against CSKA Moscow.
Leonardo's goal was the second of his season and it came on the hour mark as CSKA Moscow were trailing at half-time. The Italian striker scored from a penalty spot to give Alessandria the lead after just two minutes of play.
CSKA Moscow were awarded a penalty kick and Leonardo headed past goalkeeper Roman Kovalenko to make it 1-0 for Alessandria.
Alessandria continued their impressive form as they went on to win the game 3-1 thanks to goals from Leonardo, Marco Montagna and Paolo Ruggeri.
The goal was the first of Leonardo's season and he is now one of only four players in Serie A history to score more than three goals in a single match.
Leonardo has become a key player for Alessandria this season and he continues to impress fans with his performances on the pitch. He has been named as the Serie A Best Young Player of the Year and he will be hoping to continue his incredible run of form when the season ends.
